Contact’s ongoing investments in veneer processing technologies, extensive use of fingerjointing a wide variety of lower grade wood species cores (softwoods and hardwoods) for stable engineered product substrates complement our strategic goals to build sound products for a changing environment. A single slicing blank of any species lumber has historically yielded just one finished product. However from that same lumber blank, using our thin internal veneer preparation processes, Contact can produce as many as 50 finished products of the same species, identical in appearance, often superior in price, performance and ease of installation.
Our design and manufacturing processes attempt to utilize nearly every bit of raw material. Different sections of a tree and different species of wood have their own “best use” characteristics- strength, beauty, low-cost, durability. We capitalize on these characteristics to produce finished wood products far superior to solid pieces.
Contact was the first North American manufacturer to veneer-wrap non-wood substrates such as PVC, fiberglass, and aluminum. This innovative use of substrate materials has allowed architects, designers, and manufacturers to combine the inner performance qualities of modern materials with the outer beauty and aesthetics of wood.
- 95% of the wood that enters Contact’s manufacturing facility is manufactured into a useable product.
- We recycle nearly all of the material and by-products of our manufacturing process.
- By its very nature, profile wrapping is environmentally sound. By profile wrapping veneer over low cost substrate, Contact Industries is able to increase yields by up to 50x over solid products.

Contact also staffs an on-site Environmental Compliance Manager and has the materials experience to source environmentally certified woods, veneers and substrates. We have historically proved we can maintain the required paper trail to insure the requested certification follows your products throughout our manufacturing process.
