Like its natural wood wrapped moulding products, Contact’s wrapped stair components are readily available in oak, maple, cherry, pine and fir. They can be custom ordered in any veneer species the company is able to source.
The stair components, which include stair rails, as well as skirt board and newel posts, are manufactured in lengths up to 16’, with a fingerjointed substrate that is completely wrapped in clear, real wood veneer. The seam in the wrap is placed on the bottom face of the rail, making it impossible to detect when the product is in place. Because the stair rail is available in 16’ lengths, it offers one-piece installations on straight runs or it can be mitered and assembled into more complicated stair cases, just as one would with solid hardwood rails.
