When it came time to rebuild the USS Arizona Visitor Center at Pearl Harbor, the project designers agreed it should be warm and polished, befitting the respect due the soldiers who died there. The building also needed to withstand Hawaii’s salt-water climate and tropical moisture—and the termites that come with it—while also meeting sustainable building expectations. Naturally, they turned to Hunter Douglas Contract Ceilings and their supply partner, Contact Industries, to deliver a low-maintenance, wood veneered, fire-rated ceiling system that installed quickly and easily.
